Trendy Nursing Scrubs

Medical or nursing scrubs sure have come a long way though the new trendy ones have yet to catch on here. Look, they even come in nice prints and great slimming cutting!
Uniforms are not everyone's preference but donning them as opposed to wearing normal streetwear or office attire does have its many advantages. For starters, in these cost-cutting times, having a uniform dresscode can result in some wardrobe savings. Plus, the usual morning phrase, "Nothing to wear" can be retired..

Friday Frolics - The Colors Test

This ensemble of colors reminds me of my wardrobe, a mish-mash of colors. I once arranged my clothes according to colors but found the system (though pretty to look at) not quite practical because of the different lengths of the garments. Yep, life is about experiments, trials and errors.

The quiz says I am perfectly imperfect. I couldn't agree more..

You Are Colorful Because You Are Smooth

You're the type of person who can get away with anything. People always like you no matter what.

You are totally irresistible. You can be as quirky, colorful, and wild as you want to be!

You enjoy taking risks, and you've made a few big miscalculations over the years. You're not afraid to mess up.

Your mistakes just give you character. People love that you're perfectly imperfect. You're happy with yourself, and that's all that matters.

Factory Outlet Stores (FOS) Promotion - Buy 1, Get 2 Free

If you are looking for a good bargain on clothes, Factory Outlet Stores or FOS for short, may be the place to look.

Besides Reject Shop, FOS provides a close warehouse-like shopping experience where you can find designer labels but with a much-reduced price tag.

I have heard of Ralph Lauren shirts going for RM89 for two; DKNY jeans for less than a hundred ringgit; a D&G sweater going for RM59.90; Liz Clairborne tops for much less than the regular retail prize and Fcuk tees at a steal. Was told that FOS carries a lot of American labels including Ann Taylor and Paul Frank.

FOS can be found in many shopping malls and complexes in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya as well as in bigger cities including Penang and Johor Bahru. There is even an FOS outlet up in Genting Highlands.

Even with reduced prices, FOS still holds regular promotions to clear their stock to make way for newer items. As a matter of fact, there is a current promotion running at all outlets. It is the Buy 1, Get 2 Free promotion in which you select three items with the Buy 1, Get 2 Free sticker on the item/price tag and you need only pay for the highest priced item and get the other two pieces absolutely free. This is the sticker to look out for.
This promotion is good at all FOS outlets and will be available as long as stocks last.

Happy Shopping!

School girl outfits

A mommy at work is all excited about her little girl taking part in a kindergarten class play at an upcoming year-end concert. She said she doesn't have to do anything in preparation, even the kids' costumes are being taken care of by the kindy.

I've often wondered how do schools get the costumes for such events. Do they commission someone to tailor them or buy them off the peg? And the costumes fit so snugly too. These days, dressing up for a costume party is no longer a hassle. One can even buy adult school girl outfits in many different styles. I am bookmarking this site.

Pumps? What comes to mind..

Tell me, at the mention of "pumps" what comes to mind for you?

Chances are ladies (being ladies), footwear would come to mind while guys being the more mechanically-inclined gender would think of water pumps and such. Exactly!

The other day at the cafeteria, my (female) colleagues and I had a good laugh when we were all excited when we overhead a male colleague on the phone talking excitedly about pumps! We later found out he was referring to goulds pumps he was sourcing for the engine room. What a laugh we had.

Which reminds me, the Malaysian Mega Sale Carnival is back again and will be on until Aug 31 and I haven't gone shopping yet! Have you?

Decluttering is a good habit

When was the last time you declutter your closet? It's a good habit to declutter the closet on a regular basis or at least once a year. Declutterng lets you free up closet space by getting rid of clothes that don't fit anymore or those you won't be wearing anymore. It reduces the mess and creates space for new clothes. Tongue-in-cheek, the latter.

Recently, a colleague gave away some almost-new golf shirts. They were quickly snapped up. If he is into riding, his equestrian clothes would go the same way just as fast, I am sure. It is always good to give away clothes one no longer requires. Just make sure, they are still wearable.

Saga of the Manchester United fan at Bukit Jalil continues..

Technology has made the world smaller and contemporary social media has accelerated communications across the world. Remember the ManUtd fan at the Liverpool training session who was pressured to remove his MU Rooney No. 10 jersey? The striker himself got wind of it and hailed the lad "a legend" on Twitter. Check out the tweet..
Yes!!

A True Manchester United fan at Bukit Jalil

The video must be going viral today at least in Malaysia. It shows an MU fan attending a Liverpool training session (on their Asian tour) Thursday evening at the Bukit Jalil national stadium wearing an MU Rooney 10 jersey and being pressured to remove it. He was even given a Liverpool shirt to put on in place (what gall!) and I'm glad he refused it. He showed up later in a Malaysia shirt instead. Kudos, Manchester United fan! The Star has the story.

Watch the video..

Would you consider this a violation of human rights akin to the yellow shirt episode? Heck, even the Queen of England is wearing yellow. But of course, yellow is the color of royalty.

Titanium rings and stuff people leave behind in restrooms

The things that people leave behind in restrooms! At the office the other day, someone left behind a handphone. This is rather common, I mean there have been many instances of things being left behind or unattended. We have found ladies purses, spectacles. ballpens, watches, hairbands, calculators, phones to name the common items. Not forgetting rings. Yes, rings too.

Talk about rings, did you know that titanium rings are gaining popularity? Titanium is silver in color, has a low density and is strong, lustrous, and corrosion-resistant. You can find a vast selection of titanium rings available - with gold inlays, stone inlays, diamond accents, and special finishes. Pretty! Some samples below I found online.

Lost and Found Nike Sunglasses

It is amazing the kind of things women have inside their handbag and to think that they lug that weight around day-in day-out. I am guilty of that too. There is nothing like a place for all things you think you would need some rainy day. Lots of unmentionables in there too.

A colleague was going through her bag looking for something and found something else instead. She found her long-lost nike sunglasses! This thing does happen. You find something you think you have lost and out of the blue, it shows up. Have you ever experienced that? What 'treasure' have you found lately?

How to Make your own Jewelry

Fashion accessories and costume jewelry are the rage these days. Never before have they seen so much attention and demand for them. Not only can you buy them off the shelf, you can even make them yourself. What you need are just an interest and some jewelry making supplies and with instructions, voila! your very own jewelry set all ready to be shown off to the world. They make great gifts your girlfriends would love too.

Friday Frolics - The Skirt Test

Oh my goodness! This is soooooo me! Sorry to disappoint you..

See if it tells about you too. Not sure if this quiz is gender-specific though. Maybe not?

You Are Reflective

You don't expect perfection. You accept yourself, flaws and all. You are good enough!

You are proud of what you know how to do. And you know that you're improving every day.

You tend to keep good news to yourself... or only share it with a few very close to you.

You are self-sufficient and don't need many friends to live a happy life. You are very private.
