Lisbon Town Chair Not Likely to Get His Way on Pauline Haass Library Funding
Board unlikely to support library funding cut. (Sussex Sun, 11/15/2011)
Excerpt: It appears unlikely that the Town Board would vote to cut off funding to the Pauline Haass Library, an alternative suggested two weeks ago by Town Chairman Matt Gehrke in an interview with Lake Country Publications.
Three members of the five-member Town Board - Supervisors Dan Heier, Ryan Lippert and Joe Osterman - said in separate interviews last week that they do not support Gehrke's suggestion.
Gehrke still full of bluster.
Despite their comments, Gehrke expressed confidence in a later interview that if "push came to shove" he would have the votes necessary to cut off library funding, although he emphasized that he thinks the two communities should reach an agreement on how to share the library's operating costs.
