Current Texas Longhorn wide receiver Darius White had a few interesting Twitter posts on Monday.
Apparently, his check book looks a lot better than his stat line. (Only four career receptions for 33 yards for the former 5* receiver)
It's great to know a current Student-Athlete at an institution like the University of Texas is compensated well enough these days to be donating to charity so freely.
But surely a simple 140 character tweet can be taken out of context?
This young lady thought Darius was giving away free cash money and jumped on the deal.
These are tough times.
Maybe it is time for the NCAA to take a closer look into the Texas Longhorn Football program. Especially after Rachel McCoy, wife of Cleveland Brown's QB and former Longhorn great Colt McCoy, was able to talk so freely about it on a national radio show.
Colt did not himself have as much interaction [with agents], I don't think. I know he was approached quite a bit, but you know how Colt is, he can just kind of brush it off and just kind of move on and not go down that road, but I saw so many of his teammates who just, they maybe didn't have some of that self-control just to be able to say no to somebody. I can't. That's not my personality, I don't want to hurt people's feelings.
It's also possible that Darius White wasn't talking about money at all. Every lil bro also likes to have a gram (G) of marijuana in his pocket. Maybe he bought it from Texas Longhorn Baseball Player Jordan Etier?
Texas Department of Public Safety officers arrested a University of Texas baseball player Saturday afternoon after they say he urinated in public and then fled from officers before ditching a quantity of marijuana, according to arrest affidavits.
Jordan Etier, a senior second baseman for the Longhorns, was in Travis County jail Sunday afternoon on $2,000 bail. He was charged with evading arrest and possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors.
A witness told officers that the saw two men, one later identified as Etier, urinating near Waller Creek, north of East 18th Street near campus, the affidavits said. Etier fled when an officer approached, it said. A second officer joined the chase; Etier was caught in a parking garage a couple blocks south, the affidavits said.
One officer said he saw Etier drop what was later identified as about two-thirds of an ounce of marijuana that was wrapped in an ATM withdrawal receipt with Etier’s information on it, the affidavits said.
Either way, busted.
Let's see what Texas Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds can spin to clear this one up. The clock is ticking.
